Marcus Oringer is a New York City based Cinematographer. Marcus learned his skills studying Film and Television Production at NYU. Working across film and digital media, Marcus has lensed extensive narratives productions to documentaries, music videos, and commercial work. Marcus’s work has appeared in Vogue and i_D Magazine. In the past six months, Marcus was the Director of Photography for two features, Pure (USA) and Jinx (India) both of which are set to debut on the festival track in 2027.
Raised in San Francisco, Marcus developed an eye for natural light by photographing coastal landscapes, fog-covered streets, and the city’s hidden corners. Marcus’s practice is rooted in black-and-white photographic principles, shaped by countless hours in the darkroom and a deep attention to exposure, contrast, and composition, resulting in images that feel tactile and timeless. At the moment Marcus is in development for his second international feature.
